This special one-day workshop event was hosted by Professor Kate Brown and Dr. Tara Quinn at the University of Exeter’s Environment and Sustainability Institute in Falmouth. Key strategic decision makers from a range of sectors across Cornwall were brought together to share their knowledge and ideas.
During the day we provided an immersive experience that explored perceptions of risk, opportunity and vulnerability. Participants were invited to reflect on their day-to-day decision-making and how it affects the development of strategic responses.
The workshop was designed to encourage the development of professional decision-making practice across sectors. We created a narrative arc through the day which highlighted the tensions between personal and professional experiences of risk and how they might inform each other.
The qualitative data collected during the workshop will contribute to a wider international initiative on risk and decision-making practice called The MAGIC Project.
